CNS 2017 Press Room

Join us in San Francisco to explore the nature of how we think!

CNS invites members of the press to attend its 24th annual meeting, March 25-28, 2017, in San Francisco, CA, at the Hyatt Regency. Get great story ideas and connect with more than 1,500 neuroscientists, presenting some of the latest research on aging, memory, language, attention, and learning…

Press registration is now open. Please read our credential policy and email Lisa Munoz at cns.publicaffairs@gmail.com to register. Pre-registration ends March 3. After that, badge printing is onsite only.

Highlights will include:

  • Keynote address by Adam Gazzaley (University of California, San Francisco) – open and free to the public – on the future of brain fitness, including his lab’s work to enhance cognition through custom video games that integrate with various technologies such as virtual reality, smart watches, and mobile EEG
  • Big Ideas in Human Neuroscience, a boundary-pushing new session that will feature an international panel of experts debating and discussing major challenges and cutting-edge advances in: memory, language, and motor control
  • Symposia on the adolescent brain, mind wandering, genetics and cognitive neuroscience and more
  • Award lectures by: Marcia K. Johnson (Yale) on the subjective experience of remembering; David C. Van Essen (Washington University in St. Louis) on the Human Connectome Project and cortical brain structure; Leah Somerville (Harvard) on adolescent social decision-making; and Nicholas Turk-Browne (Princeton), whose work focuses on the interactions between perception, attention, learning, and memory
  • More than 1,000 posters and 50 talks covering the latest research on working memory, attention, decision-making, and more

Keep up-to-date on news from the meeting on the CNS 2017 Blog. And check the 2016 meeting blog for coverage from last year’s meeting.

The Press Room will be in the Golden Gate Room on the Bay Level of the Hyatt Regency. It will have Wi-Fi for working journalists. Hours for the Press Room will be:

  • Saturday, March 25: 12:00pm-5:00pm
  • Sunday, March 26: 8:00am-5:00pm
  • Monday, March 27: 8:00am-5:00pm
  • Tuesday, March 28: 9:00am-4:00pm

Please note that journalists will need to use their own laptops and will be responsible for their own belongings.

Registered members of the press will have complimentary access to scientific talks, posters, and receptions.

To qualify as a member of the press, please be prepared to provide press credentials in the form of one of the following: a business card from a news media outlet, a membership card for a journalistic professional society (e.g. NASW), letter from an editor of a news media outlet to show that you are on assignment, or recent clips related to neuroscience. Read our full credential policy.
