CNS 2022 | COVID Mandates, Regulations & Safety Information

Updated 4/18/2022

Meeting Safety Information

Cognitive Neuroscience Society COVID updates:

While the city of San Francisco has made some updates to their COVID guidelines, CNS will maintain several requirements.

Below is the most recent update from San Francisco:

Covid Mandates – The City of San Francisco has lifted regulations pertaining to indoor events and dining. Although these mandates have been lifted each business and private event can have its own set of requirements. Currently the Hotel does not require proof of vaccination or a negative Covid test. Masks are not required but are recommended as well as social distancing. Your event may have different requirements than the City and Hotel.

Food and Beverage Outlets update. We are pleased to let you know that the San Francisco Hyatt Regency Market Place will be available from 6:00am – 10:00pm for any grab and go needs. The Eclipse Bar and Kitchen will also be available each evening from 5:00pm-11:00pm with food service from 5:00pm-10:30pm. Enjoy our breakfast buffet in Eclipse Restaurant on Saturday and Sunday mornings from 7:00am-12pm.

At the CNS annual meeting, you will be required to show proof of vaccine or a negative test to register for the meeting.  While masks are no longer required by the city of San Francisco, we encourage you to wear your mask in meeting areas.  Please remember to be respectful of everyone in their choice to wear a mask.

Also, please be aware that some restaurants and other businesses outside of the hotel will have their own rules and you may be asked to show proof of vaccine/negative test/wear a mask.

We are delighted to be back in person and look forward to a safe and exciting meeting.

Updated 3/2/2022

At this time all meeting attendees must wear masks while in the meeting spaces.

Vaccinated attendees will be required to upload their Covid-19 vaccination record and their Identification Card to complete their registration. If you are not vaccinated, you will need to show a negative COVID-19 test as an alternative to being "up to date" on vaccinations (masking would still be required).

PCR laboratory tests may be taken within two days before entry for those who are not vaccinated. However, we encourage vaccinated individuals to utilize self-tests at the meeting to protect the health of others.

IMPORTANT: Self-administered rapid antigen test (such as an at-home test) is not acceptable proof of a negative test. Verification of the test result from a third party is needed. A printed or electronic document from the test provider or laboratory may be used. Unvaccinated attendees please email registration@cogneurosociety.org for more information.

  • To attend the CNS Annual Meeting you will need to be Vaccinated or show a negative COVID-19 test.
  • Masking is required.
  • Hand sanitizing stations will be available outside each meeting room.
  • Front row seating will be pushed back several feet for the safety of speakers.
