The Cognitive Neuroscience Society (CNS), committed to the development of mind and brain research and aimed at investigating the psychological, computational, and neuroscientific bases of cognition, is teaming up with MIT CogNet.
As part of an expanding partnerhip, CNS will share their conference abstracts in MIT CogNet’s “Gray Matter”. MIT CogNet’s new “Gray Matter” section, part of the unveiling of the new and improved MIT CogNet due to be released in spring 2012, will host the content in a freely available archive for gray literature in the cognitive sciences. Conference proceedings, working papers and author-contributed works will be archived and made freely available to the cognitive science community.
MIT CogNet, http://cognet.mit.edu is the online location for content, community, and collaboration for the Brain and Cognitive Sciences. After its launch in 2000, MIT CogNet quickly became an essential resource for those engaged in highly-cited, cutting-edge primary research in the cognitive sciences. With the launch of the all-new MIT CogNet in 2012, researchers and students will be able to expand their access to critical research, learn about developments in their community, and share research. Individual and institutional subscribers to MIT CogNet have access to a comprehensive platform including resources from core fields of study, such as artificial intelligence, linguistics, neuroscience, psychology, philosophy, and education. MIT CogNet offers unlimited access to a fast-growing collection of books and journals and major reference works from the MIT Press including several cornerstone works in the field such as The Cognitive Neurosciences IV (Gazzaniga), The MIT Encyclopedia of the Cognitive Sciences (Wilson, Keil), and The Visual Neurosciences, Volumes 1 and 2 (Chalupa, Werner). In addition to the more than 550 MIT Press books, subscribers have access to the full text of six MIT Press journals, including, Artificial Life, Evolutionary Computation, Computational Linguistics, Journal of Cognitive Neuroscience, Linguistic Inquiry, and Neural Computation.

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Eve Marder is the winner of the George A. Miller Award for 2012.
The George A. Miller Prize in Cognitive Neuroscience was established in 1995 by the Cognitive Neuroscience Society to honor the innovative scholarship of George A. Miller, whose many theoretical advances has so greatly influenced the discipline of cognitive neuroscience.
The prize is awarded to the nominee whose career is characterized by distinguished and sustained scholarship and research at the cutting-edge of their discipline and that has in the past, or has the potential in the future, to revolutionize cognitive neuroscience. Extraordinary innovation and high impact on international scientific thinking should be a hallmark of the recipient's work.
Dr. Marder will give a special lecture at the 2012 annual meeting in Chicago.
