II ANNOUNCEMENTS
**********************************************************************
The CNS business office moved this month to the University of California at
Davis, where it will be hosted by the Center for Mind and Brain. Cathy
Harding has joined the staff and we welcome her warmly. In the months
ahead, the Society will continue to upgrade the website to better serve and
inform the membership. We wish to thank our members, in advance, for
weathering any temporary disruptions these changes may cause.

This month Tara Miller, our Executive Director over much of the past decade,
will leave the Society to pursue new challenges. It is with sadness and
gratitude that we wish her and her staff well. At the same time, we rejoice
that Tara will continue to serve the Society by organizing the annual
meeting through her convention service.

Postdoctoral Position Available

Network for the Study of Brain Systems and Dynamics
(http://dnl.ucsf.edu/NBSD/)
A postdoctoral research fellow position is available immediately to work in
the laboratory of Dr. Steven Bressler (http://www.ccs.fau.edu/~bressler/) as
part of a consortium of Cognitive Neuroscience/Computational Science
laboratories which study the dynamical systems of large-scale brain networks
with EEG, MEG and fMRI. We are seeking an individual to adapt/refine and
apply cutting-edge tools to analyses of high density EEG, MEG and fMRI data
ranging from brain source imaging to functional connectivity and other
modeling methods. The cognitive neuroscience aspect of the research
emphasizes attention and working memory. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in
computational or cognitive neuroscience (or in an area that provides similar
background) with substantial mathematical/computational experience

IV CONFERENCES
************************************************************************
The Tool-kit of Cognitive Neuroscience 2003

The 2003 tool-kit course is an intensive 5-day course, which will provide
participants with the essentials of all major neuroimaging techniques,
including ERP, MEG, fMRI, PET, and TMS. Aspects of the measurement methods,
design requirements, experimental set-up, data processing, and multi-modal
imaging will be discussed. The course will be in the form of lectures, and
video demonstrations. Smaller tutor groups will be formed for
question-answer sessions, exercises, and on-site visits. To allow a
sufficient number of participants, lab demos will be given on video. The
course will be given by qualified experts from the FCDC- and other research
centers. The 2003 course will take place in week 28 (July 7- 11). The
tool-kit course will be held in the new auditorium of the Medical School of
the University of Nijmegen. Each participant will receive the presentations
and demos on CD. The fee for senior participants is € 500. Senior
participants from the institutions that participate in the FCDC (KUN, UM,
UU, UvT?, MPI) get a reduction of € 50. The student fee is € 250. The maximum
number of participants is 250. Following the tool-kit course, three in-depth
advanced courses will be given in the autumn/winter period 2003/2004. For
